State Rep. Ajay Pittman (Dem., Oklahoma City) has scheduled events to emphasize businesses in northeast Oklahoma City.
The “conversation sessions,” as she calls the meetings, will help businesses, her constituents and the state representative to “connect” with each other, she said. The legislator represents District 99. The first session will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, at The Merret, 6464 Avondale Dr., Nichols Hills. Jabee Williams, an artist, will be featured, along with WayneInDisThang, a local radio personality. State Rep. Pittman is calling theatmeeting ”Sunset Sunday, a casual event she hopes will “attract millenials and young adults.” The next meeting—Soulfood Sunday—will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Center, 1801 N. Lincoln Blvd. That meeting hopes to attract baby-boomers and seniors. “Our objective is to help connect constituents with local businesses, and engage them in political, civic and social conversations with their state representative,” the legislator commented. “There is a lot of culture and beauty in State House District 99,” the legislator said. “These meetings will be opportunities for concerned citizens to share their questions and proposed solutions. “We want to connect with the residents to help unify our community.” “We are excited to host the local community at our new building and share information about the outdoor programs and opportunities in the area,” said Corey Jager, the governmental liaison for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. “The building showcases some of Oklahoma’s wildlife found throughout the state, and was funded by hunting and fishing license revenue. State Rep. Pittman is also open to local business sharing space for future meetings, as well as suggestions on discussion topics. “What State Rep. Pittman is doing is transformational!” Mr. Jager said. “This is so much bigger than just a town hall. This is representation, this is youth development. This is access. This is why it is incumbent upon you to vote. “We don’t get this type of service on a state level that State Rep. Ajay Pittman is offering.” State Rep.
